Friends of St Kilda Cemetery - AGM and talk by Susan Grant on Joseph Panton

Susan Grant is a Committee Member of the Flinders District Historical Society and the Port Phillip Pioneers Group. Susan's fascination with Joseph Panton started with her interest in his land holdings in Flinders. Panton arrived from Scotland to manage his uncle’s sheep station in Mangalore and remarkably went on to be a highly influential public official and pioneer. He was a Goldfield Commissioner, Police Magistrate, geologist, winemaker, explorer, land speculator, pastoralist, and artist. Panton is buried in the St Kilda Cemetery.
