The Port Phillip City Collection includes over 4,500 catalogued photographs. The Collection includes a large number of 19th and 20th century photographs of civic officials from the three former cities - South Melbourne, Port Melbourne and St Kilda - and the current City of Port Phillip.

The Collection also includes an extensive photographic archive of the buildings, streetscapes, industries, landscapes and social events marking the Port Phillip area.  Successive Royal visits and works by well known photographers including Charles Nettleton and David Wood are just some of the highlights in this Collection.
